Mexico City mayor quits in bid to become country's 1st female Prez

Mexico City's mayor Claudia Sheinbaum announced she'll step down to seek the presidential nomination of the ruling party National Regeneration Movement (MORENA). Sheinbaum wrote on social media that she aimed "to become the first woman in the history of Mexico to lead the destinies of the nation". MORENA will announce its candidate for the 2024 presidential election on September 6.
