MHA asks states and UTs to stay alert over May Day protests

Ministry of Home Affairs asked all states and Union Territories to stay alert ahead of nationwide protests planned by trade and farmer unions on International Labour Day on Friday. In a communication to Chief Secretaries and DGPs, it said they're likely to mobilise workers on May Day. This follows recent protests in Noida over wages, working hours and overtime compensation.
