Microsoft may've used 7 lakh litres of water to train GPT-3: Study

Microsoft may have consumed seven lakh litres of water, enough to produce 370 BMW cars, to train OpenAI's GPT-3 model, a study by US researchers said. It further noted that popular AI chatbot ChatGPT needs to "drink" a 500ml water bottle for a conversation of roughly 20-50 questions. Water is required to cool data servers and generate electricity for them.
