Microsoft, OpenAI & GitHub ask court to dismiss AI copyright case

Microsoft, Microsoft-owned GitHub and OpenAI have asked a US court to dismiss a proposed class-action lawsuit which alleges that the companies improperly monetised open-source code to train AI-powered Copilot system, which suggests lines of code for programmers. As per Microsoft and OpenAI, the plaintiffs failed to argue they suffered specific injuries from the companies' actions.
