Microsoft replaces OpenAI, Anthropic's models with its own in Excel, Word: Report

Microsoft has begun replacing AI models from OpenAI and Anthropic with its own models in Excel, Word, and Outlook, Bloomberg reported, citing sources. The firm is using Microsoft AI (MAI) models in these programs to respond to a certain percentage of prompts, the report added. Microsoft had announced seven new MAI models, including an agentic coder, last month.
