Microsoft's African data centre delayed amid disagreements with Kenyan govt

Microsoft's East African data centre project in Kenya has been delayed after disagreements with the Kenyan government over guaranteed payments, Bloomberg reported. Microsoft and UAE-based AI firm G42 sought annual payment commitments for a fixed amount of capacity at the proposed $1-billion facility. The talks reportedly broke down after Kenya failed to provide guarantees at the level requested.
