Microsoft on Tuesday officially killed its Windows 8 operating system only three years after its launch. Microsoft will no longer provide any security updates for Windows 8, making the operating system vulnerable to attacks. Microsoft advised Windows 8 users to upgrade to its free service pack Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. Windows 8 was Microsoft's first attempt at touch interactions.
