Microsoft to scale Azure Maia AI chips to multi-gigawatt by 2027

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced Maia 300, an AI chip delivering 40% more tokens per watt than leading GPU systems. It will scale to multi-gigawatt deployments from 2027, becoming the primary system for running AI across Microsoft products. The chip offers 7x rack-scale throughput over Maia 200, built on TSMC's N2P process.
