Microsoft’s 1st major acquisition was PowerPoint

Tech major Microsoft had acquired Forethought, a software company that developed PowerPoint, in 1987 for $14 million, making it the first significant acquisition for the company. Founded by Rob Campbell and Taylor Pohlman in 1983, the PowerPoint program, which was later known as Microsoft PowerPoint, allowed Macintosh users to create slides, transparencies and flip charts for use in presentations.
