Mid, small-cap MF schemes account for 50% of new folios for 1st time

Mid-and small-cap mutual fund schemes accounted for over 50% of the total folios added by the mutual fund industry in the first four months of FY27, marking a record high. These segments also captured 56% of total equity fund inflows in July. Experts attributed the surge in investor interest largely to the strong performance of mid-and small-cap stocks.
