Milkha Singh laid on pyre with a photo of his wife Nirmal Kaur in his hands

Legendary Indian sprinter Milkha Singh, who was cremated with full state honours in Chandigarh on Saturday, was laid on the pyre with a photograph of his wife Nirmal Kaur in his hands. Milkha had passed away aged 91 due to COVID-19-related complications, five days after Nirmal died battling COVID-19. Jeev Milkha Singh performed the last rites of his father.
