Millions of Google Pixel phones sold with security flaw: Report

A report by cybersecurity firm iVerify said millions of Google Pixel phones shipped globally since 2017 contain third-party software, "Showcase.apk". The application could be manipulated to surveil or remotely control users' phones. It was reportedly made by Smith Micro for in-store demo devices at Verizon stores. Google said it'd remove the app from all Pixel devices "in the coming weeks".
