Mills in UP mixing stone powder with atta sold across country to boost profits: Report

Some flour mills in UP are mixing powdered white stone into atta sold under branded names across country to boost profits, an investigative report by Dainik Bhaskar revealed. Mill operators said up to 10% adulteration is common, with mills earning about ₹140 profit per quintal. There's no change in taste of roti made with adulterated flour, one operator claimed.
