Madhya Pradesh has asked NMDC to explore and mine diamonds at the $9-billion Bunder project abandoned by Rio Tinto, an official said. The state-owned miner already mines in the neighbouring Majhgawan mine where it has extracted about 1 million carats of diamonds. "NMDC is enthusiastic and looking forward to taking on another mine in Madhya Pradesh," the company said.
