Mining dust silicosis kills dozens in Aravalli villages

In Rajasthan's Sikar and Kotputli-Behror, silicosis from mining dust has killed more than 50 residents in Syalodra alone. Workers at stone crushing units inhale silica dust, causing fatal lung disease. A Supreme Court-appointed Aravalli panel skipped affected villages during field visits. Its final report is due on November 30, but residents see little hope for relief.
