Ministry of Human Resource Development renamed as Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Human Resource Development has been renamed as Ministry of Education, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced on Wednesday after a Cabinet meeting. The Cabinet also approved the New Education Policy 2020 (NEP2020) which seeks to overhaul the education system in the country. This will replace the National Education Policy framed in 1986 and modified in 1992.
