Mirabai Chanu wins India's 1st gold at CWG 2026 by lifting 190 kg, completes historic hat-trick

Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu today clinched India's first gold medal at Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2026. The 31-year-old lifted a total of 190 kg, with 85 kg in snatch, a Commonwealth Record, and 105 kg in clean and jerk. Mirabai became the first woman weightlifter to win gold at three consecutive CWG editions. Overall, it's her fourth CWG medal, including one silver.
