Mirwaiz Umar Farooq removed the 'Hurriyat Chairman' title from his X and Facebook profiles after authorities warned his accounts could be taken down due to the UAPA ban on the Hurriyat Conference and its constituents. He said he complied reluctantly, as social media remains one of his few channels to communicate publicly amid restricted civic space.
