Misspelled memorial to Brontë sisters corrected after 85 years in London

A misspelled memorial to the 19th-century novelists Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë in London's Westminster Abbey has been corrected after 85 years. The dots above the e, known as diaereses, were omitted when the tablet was erected in 1939. Charlotte's 'Jane Eyre', Emily's 'Wuthering Heights', and Anne's 'The Tenant of Wildfell Hall' are notable works of the Victorian era.
