MIT's particle learning system could help robots make sushi

MIT researchers have developed a new particle learning system to improve robots' abilities to mould materials into target shapes. The team said it may have "fun applications" in personal robotics, such as rolling sticky rice for sushi. They also demonstrated the system with a two-fingered robot, RiceGrip, that reshaped deformable foam into the desired shape, similar to sushi.
