DMK President MK Stalin resigned as Tamil Nadu CM after the party suffered a defeat in the state Assembly elections, several reports stated. The resignation letter has been forwarded to the office of Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. DMK won 59 seats in the 234-member Assembly, while Vijay-led TVK secured 108 seats, falling short of the majority mark of 118.
