MMR to get drinking water from 2 new Karjat dam projects

Two dam projects in Karjat, costing ₹6,394.13 crore and ₹6.61 crore respectively, have been approved to supply drinking water to Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The former, on Poshir River, will have a 12.344 TMC capacity, while the latter, on the Shilar River, will cater to Panvel and Navi Mumbai. Additionally, cabinet sanctioned ₹5,329.46 crore for lift irrigation scheme in Dhule district.
