MMRDA proposes underground Bhiwandi-Kalyan route on Metro Line-5

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has proposed modified design of Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan portion of Metro Line-5. As per the modified design, a part of route between Bhiwandi and Kalyan Metro stations will be underground. If the project is moved underground, it will reduce the travel time and the total number of project-affected families will also decrease.
