Mob assaults doctor at medical college in Karnataka, 5 arrested

A mob allegedly assaulted a doctor at Karnataka's Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences (BRIMS) late on Thursday night. The assault triggered protests by medical staff who demanded action against the accused and protection from violent incidents. The mob wanted the doctor to treat a patient without registering the matter as a medico-legal case. Police have arrested five accused.
