77 of 141 posts vacant in Mohali fire dept, lacks aerial platforms

Mohali's fire department has 77 of 141 sanctioned posts vacant, with only 20 permanent employees. The department also lacks 90-metre and 104-metre aerial firefighting platforms needed for buildings over 100 metres in Mohali, Zirakpur and New Chandigarh. A proposal for these platforms, initiated in 2022-23, remains pending with GMADA. Recruitments are expected soon.
