Mongolia culls 1,230 livestock after FMD outbreak

Mongolia has culled over 1,230 livestock animals in Bayan-Ulgii and Khovd provinces after outbreaks of the highly contagious SAT-1 strain of foot-and-mouth disease. Authorities have imposed heightened alert measures, while another FMD strain has been reported in six provinces, raising concerns for the country's livestock-dependent economy.
