Monopoly helped prisoners of war escape during WW II

Board-game Monopoly was used by the British secret services to rescue Allied prisoners of war from German camps during World War II. It was included in the items that the German army allowed to be distributed among the prisoners by humanitarian groups. The game contained hidden maps, mini-compasses, and local currency. Notably, World War II ended on September 2, 1945.
