The India Meteorological Department on Tuesday declared monsoon onset over Mumbai. "Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into some parts of North Arabian Sea and Gujarat, some more parts of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh and some parts of Madhya Pradesh during the next 2-3 days," IMD stated. It will advance to part of UP in subsequent 3-4 days.
