Monsoon in Kinnaur: Artificial lake swallows homes in Lipa village

For the past few monsoons, a handful of families in Lipa village of Kinnaur district have been living with an unusual and recurring nightmare. Every spell of heavy rain transforms a village nullah into a temporary lake, leaving the ground floors of several multi-storeyed houses submerged for days and forcing residents to watch helplessly as water engulfs their homes.
