IMD has indicated an early onset of monsoon this year compared to its usual arrival date. IMD said, "This year, the southwest monsoon is likely to set in over Kerala on 26th May with a model error of ± 4 days." Monsoon typically arrives in Kerala around June 1, which then moves northwards covering the rest of the country.
