Southwest monsoon covered all of India on July 9, but IMD said the active spell has ended and below-normal rainfall is likely. Forecasts indicate a significant reduction in rainfall activity between July 10-15 over north, west and central India, including west coast. IMD has projected this year's monsoon rainfall to be 90% of the long-period average, due to El Niño.
