Over 2.16 lakh individuals reported annual income above Rs 1 crore in assessment year 2023-24 till December 2022, a significant jump from 1.87 lakh unique high networth taxpayers in previous fiscal, according to official data. Numbers have been rising yearly with professionals also witnessing highest growth this year, indicating impacts of economic growth and prosperity.
