Mount Fuji: You will now have to pay to climb Yoshida Trail

Mount Fuji, the iconic volcano and a symbol of Japan, is implementing a new regulation that will require hikers to pay a fee to access the Yoshida Trail, the most popular route to the summit in Yamanashi prefecture. This change, effective from July 1, 2024, aims to address several challenges faced by the mountain, including congestion, safety & environmental protection.
