Mountaineering, trekking banned in Uttarkashi till Oct 8 over bad weather alert

Uttarkashi District Magistrate Abhishek Ruhela has said that trekking and mountaineering activities have been banned in Uttarkashi district from October 6-8. His decision came after the meteorological department issued an alert for rain and snowfall in the region. Recently, 10 trainee mountaineers were killed in an avalanche at Draupadi Ka Danda-2 peak in Uttarkashi.
