MP DGP Kailash Makwan issued an order instructing police personnel to "salute" MPs and MLAs regardless of whether the meeting is formal or casual. This marks the first time MP Police has explicitly stated how police officers are to greet elected officials, The Print reported. "Respect can't be earned through directives," BJP said while Congress called the order "uniform's insult".
