MP man gifting saplings on special occasions since 1987, says 'Bouquets don't last'

A man from Madhya Pradesh's Indore has been planting and gifting tree saplings instead of flowers to mark special occasions since 1987. Since then, Rajesh Makwane has gifted nearly 25,000 saplings, saying bouquets have short lifespans while trees provide clean air and shade. Over the years, he has planted trees in honour of actor Dharmendra and late singer Lata Mangeshkar.
