MRI inventor, Nobel laureate Sir Peter Mansfield passes away
Sir Peter Mansfield, known for pioneering body scanning technique Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), recently passed away aged 83. The English physicist was awarded 'The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2003', for discoveries concerning the MRI. The University of Nottingham Emeritus Professor is also credited with further developing MRI, creating quicker scans with much clearer images.
