'Mu' variant of COVID now a WHO Variant of Interest, has 'constellation of mutations'
The "Mu" or B.1.621 variant of COVID-19 which was first detected in Colombia in January has been classified by WHO as a Variant of Interest (VOI). "The Mu variant has a constellation of mutations that indicate potential properties of immune escape," WHO said. "Preliminary data showed it has the same behaviour as the Beta variant," it added.
