Mumbai AC local trains' ticket prices cut by 50%, 5 km-journey to cost ₹30

Union Minister of State for Railways, Raosaheb Patil Danve, on Friday announced a 50% reduction in the ticket prices of air-conditioned local trains in Mumbai. According to him, the existing minimum fare of ₹65 for a distance of five kilometres will be reduced to ₹30. Danve further said that the fare reduction was a long-pending demand of the public.
