Mumbai auto drivers begin strike over Marathi rule, say 'Had we been educated, we'd be in office'
Auto-rickshaw drivers in Mumbai began three-day strike against Marathi language requirement for auto-rickshaw, taxi & cab drivers. "We are 55-60-year-olds...We've never been to school...How can we speak Marathi? Had we been educated, we would've been sitting in office," a driver said. Another said they are trying to learn, but they are being penalised instead of being given time to comply.
