Mumbai chief of Sharad Pawar's NCP joins BJP ahead of BMC polls

Rakhee Jadhav, the chief of the Mumbai unit of Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP (SP)), joined the BJP on Monday ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. She is likely to contest on the BJP's ticket from Ghatkopar. NCP (SP)'s Pune chief Prashant Jagtap had earlier quit the party to join the Congress on December 26.
