Mumbai lakes' water levels surge to 89.70% amid heavy rainfall

Following heavy rainfall, the water levels in Mumbai's seven lakes have risen to 89.70% of their total capacity, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Modak Sagar and Tansa lakes are full. BMC officials noted that Upper Vaitarna, Modak Sagar, and Tansa have started overflowing. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, Palghar, and Thane districts.
