Mumbai man loses ₹78.85 lakh in online crypto fraud

A Kanjurmarg resident was allegedly duped of ₹78.85 lakh after fraudsters added him to a WhatsApp group promising trading tips and crypto gains. After initial returns boosted his trust, he transferred funds to multiple bank accounts. He discovered the scam when asked to pay ₹18 lakh as withdrawal charges and approached cyber police.
