Mumbai metro slab collapses, school van narrowly escapes; contractors fined ₹12.5 cr

A portion of a slab fell from under-construction Mumbai Metro Line 9 in Mira-Bhayandar. During the incident, a school van reportedly had a narrow escape, while debris from the slab punctured its tyres. Following the incident, the MMRDA imposed a ₹10 crore penalty on project contractor, ₹1.5 crore on the architectural finishing contractor, and ₹1 crore on the general consultant.
