Mumbai-Pune Xpressway's 'missing link' tunnel gets 'E' risk tag

The 10-km 'missing link' tunnel on the Pune-Mumbai expressway is classified under the highest-risk 'E' category, so trucks carrying petrol, diesel, LPG, CNG and other toxic or inflammable chemicals are banned from using it. MSRDC and police will enforce the rule strictly from its May 1 opening, directing such tankers back to the ghat road to reduce catastrophic-risk exposure.
