Mumbai recorded hottest April day in 15 yrs on April 16 at 39.7°C

Mumbai recorded a maximum temperature of 39.7°C on Tuesday, making it the warmest day in the city in April since 2009, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The temperature was observed at Santacruz-based observatory, while Colaba observatory reported maximum temperature of 35.2°C. The city had clocked a maximum temperature of 40.6°C on April 2, 2009, IMD scientist Sushma Nair said.
