Mumbai records 5,428 new COVID-19 infections, active cases cross 16,000

Mumbai on Friday recorded 5,428 new COVID-19 cases, marking a 47% jump in fresh infections in a day. One related death was also recorded in the city and Mumbai's active cases jumped to 16,441. As per a Maharashtra government bulletin, 454 Omicron cases have been found in the state so far, of which 327 were reported from Mumbai.
