Mumbai reports 1st death due to GBS, death toll rises to 8 in Maha

The first death due to Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), an immunological nerve disorder, was reported in Mumbai, taking total death toll to eight in Maharashtra. A 53-year-old patient, who was admitted to Mumbai's Nair Hospital, died due to GBS virus. On Monday, Maharashtra Health Department reported that 192 suspected GBS cases have been detected so far, with 167 confirmed cases.
