Mumbai to get 238 new AC local trains in next 3 years

Mumbai's suburban railway network is set to receive 238 new AC local train rakes, with the first expected in 2027 and the complete fleet targeted by 2030. The project will provide 2,856 new coaches at an estimated rolling-stock cost of ₹19,293 crore. Production will be divided among ICF Chennai, RCF Kapurthala and MCF Raebareli.
