Mumbai's Prince Aly Khan Hospital shuts in-patient service after declared unsafe

Mumbai's Prince Aly Khan Hospital has decided to shut its in-patient admissions and surgeries after an independent structural audit found that despite regular and timely maintenance, the main building was unsafe for occupancy. The hospital has been in operation since 1945. It is a 170-bed multi-speciality hospital that caters to more than 1,70,000 outpatients and 9,000 in-patients annually.
